ARBOR PARENT PORTAL & APP

At Honley High School, we want our parents and carers to feel as much a part of their child’s education as possible.

The Arbor Parent Portal and App give you access to your child’s attendance, timetable, behaviour, and academic progress. Through the Parent Portal, you can see further details about your child’s attendance and update key information about your child, removing the need for sign-up sheets and data collection forms.

How to access the Parent Portal for the first time:

  • You will need to set up your Parent Portal account on a desktop computer using Google Chrome before you can access the app

  • Click here and select ‘First time logging in’

  • Follow the steps

  • More than one child at Honley? Select the drop-down arrow next to the name of the child (already signed in to) to view your other child/ren (you will need to add their date of birth)

After you have logged in via the Parent Portal:

  • Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store on your phone and search for ‘Arbor’

  • Enter your email, select the school, then enter your password

  • Accept the Terms & Conditions and enter the birthday of your eldest child currently enrolled at Honley

To see your child’s full timetable, you will need to go to the Parent Portal, as the App shows only the previous and next lesson. Many parents and students find photographing their child’s timetable (copy in their student planner) on their phone handy.

Progress Evening Bookings

Progress Evening appointments are made via the Arbor Parent Portal and App via Guardian Consultations.

Online bookings open at 6.00pm two weeks before each event and close one day before. After this time, changes to appointments need to be made by contacting the school on 01484 506484 or by email to office@honley.tlt.school.

Reporting your child’s absence

If your child is going to be absent due to sickness or an emergency, it is essential that school is informed before 8.15am on each day of absence, providing a clear reason for the absence along with any symptoms. This helps us respond appropriately and avoids any unnecessary follow-up.

You can report your child’s absences by:

If your child has an unavoidable appointment, please include evidence.

Please note that we cannot take absence messages via other channels such as SMS or Facebook messages.

Reporting same day absences on Arbor

Arbor App or Portal:

  1. Open the Arbor app or portal and sign in

  2. Select your child (if you have more than one)

  3. Click Quick Actions, then Attendance

  4. From here, click the green Log Absence button in the top-right of the page

  5. Adjust the start and end time for the absence as needed, and type in the reason for the absence, including symptoms

  6. Once completed, click Log Absence

  7. Once this has been logged, school staff can accept or reject the absence. Approved absences appear in the Attendance tab of the Parent Portal or Arbor App
